All quiet for the winter
The farm has quieted down and winter is arriving.
The honeybees are tucked inside their hives as they keep their temperature regulated at 90 degrees. They are well stocked with 60 lbs. of honey per hive to keep them fed throughout the cold season.
Monarchs have all migrated to Mexico and are awaiting Springtime on the branches of Oyamel fir trees.
Native butterflies, such as black swallowtails, are overwintering in our backyard gardens. We’ll look forward to seeing them again once warmer weather comes back.
